This handsome map of Ireland divides the island into its four provinces and further subdivides it by county. There is excellent topographical detail depicting mountains, rivers, lochs, and forests, and several towns and cities are identified, including Dublin, Galway, Lymerick, Corke, and Kilkenny. The title cartouche appears at bottom right with a putti holding a compass and four distance scales at bottom. At top left, two putti hoist the Irish coat-of-arms (the Celtic harp). This is the second state, with the islands of Avon or Sanda added at the top, published 1687-88.

References: Carhart #110.2.

Condition: B

There is scattered foxing, moderate offsetting, and repaired centerfold separations at left and right. There is some light staining visible on recto along the left centerfold from the use of non-archival adhesive on verso.
