This nice copper-engraved map details the course of the Danube and its tributaries across the northwestern Balkans with the political divisions of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia and Dalmatia. The title is enclosed in a strapwork title cartouche, and the sea is stipple engraved with scroll lettering. French text on verso, published in either Gerardi Mercatoris Atlas sive Cosmographicae Meditationes... (1628) or Gerardi Mercatoris et I. Hondii Atlas ou Representation du Monde Universel... (1633).

A nice impression with contemporary color on a lightly toned sheet. There is an extraneous crease at left and a tear that extends 1.5" into the image also at left that has been closed on verso with archival materials.
