This uncommon map is based on the work of Pierre du Val, who is credited within the title cartouche. The map is oriented with north to the right and presents a detailed picture of the region between the fertile Nile River valley and the Red Sea. The strapwork title cartouche includes a dedication to Monsieur Doviat Sgr. de Montreuille by Duval. Latin text on verso.
