Attractive map of Thuringen based on Adolar Erich's important map of 1625. Roughly centered on Erfurt, it extends to include Mansfeld, Halle, Muhlhausen and Meiningen. Embellished with a fine title cartouche surrounded by putti, a coat-of-arms, and a dedication cartouche to Joachim Vicoforius, signed by Johannes and Cornelius Blaeu. Spanish text on verso, published between 1659-72.

A nice impression with full contemporary color on a bright sheet with a large watermark of the god Atlas. There is a hint of toning along the centerfold, two small abrasions in and adjacent to Erfurt, and marginal soiling.
