This splendid pictorial map was created by Egon Huber and was issued by the Italian State Tourist Department to encourage tourism to the Greek island of Rhodes. The island is filled with colorful imagery representing the people, culture, and traditions of Rhodes. The Greek God Helios looms tall above the island to represent the "Island of the Sun." White-lined drawings of important buildings, landmarks, and the port of Rhodes are superimposed over the surrounding sea. The verso includes photographic images and useful information for the tourist in French text, including a small map showing routes to Rhodes via sea and air. This map was also issued in a promotional poster format.
