These three sheets are from a Dutch history of the countries of the world and its inhabitants. Each includes allegorical figures and putti. The first presents a map of the eastern part of North America, extending to the Caribbean. The setting is evocative of the West Indies, with palm trees, trade goods and a cornucopia filled with exotic fruit. The second presents a map of South America on a large monument. Four Muses display the crests of colonial powers and an Amazonian queen sits atop the monument. The third is a frontispiece showing an idyllic landscape with Europa unveiling a globe to the seated figure of America.
