This remarkable map of San Francisco by Fred Bain is drawn on a circle with a paper location indicator centered on a metal eyelet. The map covers the entire city including Presidio, Mission, Sunset, and South San Francisco while a small inset at right presents the peninsula from San Jose to San Francisco. A large red arrow and bold text locates the First National Bank of San Francisco. The easy-to-use locating pointer is indexed to hundreds of place names on verso with instructions for use to the right of the map. The circle has 96 numbers around the circumference and the pointer has the letters A to Z. The combination of the two determines exact locations. In addition to an index, the verso contains information on the location of hotels, hospitals, theatres, clubs, parks, and more. Self-folding (4.2 x 8.4”) with "Compliments of The First National Bank of San Francisco” on the front cover. Copyrighted by Bain in 1921 and the Thomas Brothers in 1922.
