A large detailed map of Houston by H.L. Bracey covering the area from Little York south to Garden Villas and from beyond Memorial Park east to Jacinto City. It shows the street-grid pattern of the growing city, parks, country clubs, the Rice Institute, schools, and more. Flanked by a detailed street index at right. The map presents the city after its population had increased by 55% in the previous decade to 596,000. We found only one institutional example of this 1952 map on OCLC (Rice University), and a total of 5 examples published between 1945-52. The full sheet with text measures 40.4 x 28.6".
