This thematic map divides the world into six human races: white (shown in purple), red (Native American - shown in pink), yellow, black Malay (shown in light blue), black African (shown in orange), and black "Alfourou" (aboriginal - shown in green). Interestingly, the United States is divided into pink in the west (for Native American) and light blue in the east, which presumably should have been colored purple. Portraits of men of each of the six races are shown along with the skull of a white versus a black human. Also surrounding the map are images of plants and animals native to the Oceanic region, which is outlined in red on the map. Published by Theodore Auguste Joly.
