This charming pictorial map of Germany was designed by Leo Faller as a promotional item for Germany's railway system. Its theme is fairy tales, with notable stories strewn about the landscape, including the Golden Goose (Oldenburg), Puss in Boots (Berlin), the Pied Piper (Hamelin), Rapunzel (Wetzlar), Little Red Riding Hood (Fulda), and Hansel and Gretel (Bayreuth). Famous German storytellers are named throughout, with portraits of the Brothers Grimm, Dorothea Vichmann, and Wilhelm Hauff. Railroads are indicated in black and white. There is an inset map showing Germany's pre-World War II boundaries in 1937, likely the year this map was first published. This later edition was published by Karl Wenschow in Munich.
