Great map of the whole of Switzerland based on the cartography of Gerard Mercator. Graphically depicting the mountainous region and densely engraved with information including even the tiniest villages. Embellished with a strapwork title cartouche and two scale of miles cartouches, one of which includes a vignette of two gentlemen. French text on verso, published between 1643-50.

Full contemporary color on watermarked paper with a few minor spots and a 2" centerfold separation at bottom that has been closed on verso with old paper. Minor dampstaining is confined to the top blank margin. There is hinge tape along the sheet edges on verso.
