The map is distinguished by its striking topographical detail, with the massive crater of Mount Vesuvius prominently featured. Naples, Sorrento, and several other towns and cities are named. A key at top right identifies archbishoprics and bishoprics, cities, castles, churches, quarries, ruins, and more. There is an ornate title cartouche at bottom right that is adorned with mythological figures. A compass rose in the bay orients the north to the left.
