This superb pictorial map of Belgian Congo, which became independent from Belgium in 1960, was issued by Côte d'Or, a Belgian chocolate company. The map is filled with images of natives as well as animals that can be found in the Congo. The border features ancient tribal masks. The map was created by James Thiriar and printed by Leon Beyaert-Sioen to accompany a soft cover book that Côte d'Or issued that contained photos and information on the flora and fauna of the Congo.
