A. Antique Maps and Charts, by A.L. Humphreys, published 1989 (11.4 x 12.1"). Originally published as Old Decorative Maps and Charts in 1929, this reprint includes an introduction by Jonathan Potter. Spanning 300 years of researched works compiled by A.G.H. Macpherson, Humphrey's running commentary contains factual evidence, background information, and legends regarding antique maps and map-making. 32 full color and 62 B & W illustrations, 191 pages. Hardbound in blue cloth boards with illustrated dust jacket.

B. Collecting Antique Maps - An Introduction to the History of Cartography, by Jonathan Potter, published 1992 (8.9 x 12.0"). This is a very nice introduction to collecting antique maps. Text and illustrations, many in color, cover all parts of the world from about 1500 to 1850. The book is divided into three sections: Looking at Maps introduces the basics of antique maps and collecting; Mapping the World and Its Countries; and Globes, Curiosities and Miniatures. 192 pages. Hardbound in red with gilt title on spine and an illustrated dust jacket. Signed by the author.
