This 8-page brochure was published by the Automobile Club of America, the country’s first auto club and a founding member of the American Automobile Association. It features 3 “Trip-Tik” style maps depicting the route from New York to Florida with accompanying text showing mileages along the route. This tour was intended to rival the planned “Dixie Highway” tour from the Midwest to Florida. The introduction highlights “The Call of the South” which “not only offers the visitor matchless advantages of climate and scenery, and localities rich in memories of great men and heroic deeds, but also countless miles of new highways, resort developments…whose names represent the highest standards of hospitality and service.” The list of “Hotels Cooperating in the Dixie Tour” is on the rear cover. We found no past sales records or institutional examples for this early auto guide.
