This 15-page brochure for the Florida East Coast Railway was printed by The Record Company in St. Augustine and features a boldly-colored centerfold map depicting the railroad from Jacksonville to Key West. The map incorporates many classical design elements not seen in other Florida East Coast Railway maps including a sea monster, Spanish Galleon, compass rose and strapwork title cartouche. Accompanying text and illustrations describe the region and attractions along the route. The brochure is notable for being one of the last to promote the Key West Extension before its demise in 1935. Under the heading “Going to Sea by Rail,” (page 11) the text notes that the line “plunges fearlessly out to sea for a distance of over one hundred miles…this portion of the line represents a daring engineering experiment, often called the Eighth Wonder of the World. The train ride…is a unique experience.” Circa date is based upon the hotel rates shown for the 1933-34 season. Self-folding into attractive pictorial wrappers (4.0 x 9.0”).
