An interesting sheet with a bird's-eye plan of the city of Lima, Peru at top and a view of the great silver mine of Potosi (Bolivia) at bottom, copied from Arnoldus Montanus' view. Potosi was Spain's proudest possession in the New World with the flow of treasure reaching immense proportions and fueling the European imagination for continued exploration.

A dark impression on a sheet with a fleur-de-lis watermark. In the blank margins there is light dampstaining and a chip in the bottom right corner that has been replaced with old paper.
