This finely engraved map by Girolamo Porro depicts the island of Naxos, the largest of the Cyclades. It locates temples to Apollo and Bacchus, a monastery, a castle, towns, and other landmarks with small illustrations. The stippled sea is filled with smaller islands, and the map is further embellished with sea monsters, a compass rose, and a decorative title cartouche. On a sheet of Italian text measuring 8.1 x 11.4".

A nice impression with a light dampstain in the bottom right corner of the sheet, well away from the engraved image.
