Attractive map covering northeastern Africa, the Red Sea, and part of Arabia. A number of kingdoms and tribes are named in the region of present-day Egypt, Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia, and Eritrea. A notation in the bottom left corner states that many emeralds are supposedly in these mountains. Adorned by a decorative title cartouche and four distance scales.

A nice impression with contemporary outline color in the map and later color in the cartouche, on a bright sheet with a large watermark of a Maltese cross encircled in rosary beads. There are a few small spots in the image and minor toning along the edges of the sheet.
