This small map of the continent has several interesting features in the developing west. A River of the West is connected to the Entrance of Juan de Fuca via a conjectural lake and extends to the east towards the headwaters of the Mississippi. Quivira and Teguayo appear in the vast blank space north of the Colorado River. California is New Albion, and Texas is named but not delineated in the large Louisiana Territory. The Mississippi serves as the western boundary of the United States. Florida is still a Spanish possession, divided into East and West.
