This fascinating treasure map of the Southwest extends from Colorado and New Mexico west to California and south to Mexico including Baja California. It contains text describing various lost mines and sunken galleons where numerous X's mark the spot. A few of the lost mines include La Mina Perdida, El Lipano, and the Lost Dutchman Mine. Another note indicates a "young Mexican girl found gold nuggets in this general area in the desert during a sandstorm...but location of gold was never found again." Copious illustrations supplement the text including images of Indians, cowboys, a conquistador, priest, and several galleons in the Pacific Ocean. Issued “Compliments of your Sinclair Dealer” (Sinclair Oil Corporation) at lower left. We found only one past sales record for this map and no institutional examples on OCLC.
