This innovative street map of the city by W.E. Bridwell Engineering extends from Glendale south to Inglewood and from Hollywood east to Alhambra. Extensive blue overprinting reveals the lines of the Los Angeles Railway, Pacific Electric Railway, and bus lines. The map is divided into numbered sections from 15 to 130, and the street index on verso corresponds to these numbers on the map in combination with a second set of numbers (1-10) on the “Patented Instantaneous Street Finder” located on the front slipcase. The reader would then place the slipcase on the map to the corresponding number to locate any street. This design offered a unique and user-friendly way to navigate through a large city. We found only 5 past sales records for any edition of this map and no examples on OCLC.
