This finely engraved map shows the state with 37 counties and the majority of development in the north. A railroad extends from Fernandina to Cedar Keys, and a railroad in progress joins Jacksonville to Tallahassee. There are only a few roads in the southern half of the state but there are a number of forts due to the recently concluded Seminole Wars. A large inset at lower left presents the Florida Keys. Surrounded by a decorative latticework border with stars in the corners. Published in 1863-64 editions of Johnson's atlas.
