This elegantly engraved chart depicts Petite-Goave in southern Haiti, an important settlement in the wealthy French colony of Sainte-Domingue. The village is shown in a block-style plan and the ancient village of Acul is located. Fortifications are noted on an island and at the tip of Pointe des Mangles. The bay is filled with soundings. Title is enclosed in a gorgeous decorative cartouche that also incorporates a distance scale. North is oriented to the bottom of the sheet.
