This lovely view captures a small boat in rough seas heading into Botafogo Bay. The dramatic mountains in the region are depicted in the background while a storm clears overhead. Drawn by Barthelemy Lauvergne, one of several painters who accompanied August Nicolas Vaillant on his circumnavigation of the globe.
