This map of the Black Sea was made by Ortelius on the basis of modern information presented in Mercator's maps of Southeast Europe, as well as classical sources. It is embellished with strapwork title and scale cartouches. Latin text on verso, published between 1603-12.

Condition: A

A dark impression with full contemporary color on a watermarked sheet with a bit of show-through of text and historiated initial on verso. There are dampstains confined to the bottom blank margin.
