This sheet is from an antiphonary written in four-line music in black and red ink with four large initials. The first line on this sheet includes the phrase Requiescat in Pace, which translates as "rest in peace" and is the origin of the acronym "R.I.P." The first line reads: "Anima eius et animae omnium fidelium defunctorum per misericordiam dei requiescant in pace," which translates as "May his soul and the souls of all the departed faithful by God's mercy rest in peace."
