Translated by R.A. Skelton from one of the most important geographical manuscripts in history; now in the collection of Yale University. The report of the first circumnavigation was written by one of its few survivors, Filippo Pigafetta. Volume I (194 pp.) contains the introduction, translation and index. Vol. 2 (unpaginated) is a copy of the beautiful original manuscript in full color. Hardbound in cream cloth, embossed astrolabe on front covers and red/gilt lettering on the spines, housed in original red cloth slipcase with illustrated paper label.

Near mint. Contents are fine and there is just a touch of soiling on the covers. Slipcase has light shelf wear and one small stain.
