This is a reduced-size edition of Oren Arnold's humorous map of the United States. The map is drawn from the perspective of a Californian, with the Golden State encompassing the majority of the west coast, extending as far east as the Colorado River. The state is filled with details of everything that makes it great, including gold, Sequoia National Park, the Rose Bowl, movie stars, oranges, zoos, skiing, and "everything!" Also included in the state apparently are Niagara Falls, Mt. Everest, Yellowstone National Park, Carlsbad Caverns, and even the Grand Canyon -- because how could such wonderful places be anywhere but in the great state of California? A large "Kissin' sun" shines brightly on California and neighboring islands of Alaska, Catalina, Waikiki and Aloha, while the remainder of the United States is plain white, with the exception of California's prime competitor, Florida. Noted as filled with rain, swamps, clouds, Death Valley, and ice, Florida is colored black and appears inhospitable to tourists. Other states are either misplaced, misspelled, or outright missing, because why would a Californian need to know anything about them? The vast interior of the country is labeled as "Space...good only for movie sets" and "Unexplored - Unimportant anyway; not in California." Despite the dreariness of the eastern United States, the Los Angeles City Limits extends to include all of the US with the exception of Florida and the far Northeast. New York is the only other positive depiction and is noted as "about 200, delightful, easy miles" from the border of California, while Florida is "17,000 dangerous miles" from New York. Clearly this map was intended to convince New Yorkers to vacation in California rather than Florida.

This smaller edition was the centerfold of a tourist brochure on California, and advertises the larger, six-color edition at bottom left. Illustrated by Charlene Bisch and published by Oren Arnold.
