A lovely view of Boston looking to the east from the corner of Park and Beacon streets. In the foreground are various buildings, several church steeples, and Boston Common while Boston Harbor fills the background. At center is the newspaper's headquarters marked "Ballou's Pictorial" with an American flag flying from its roof. Ballou's Pictorial Drawing-Room Companion is similar in layout to Harper's Weekly but preceded it by several years. Drawn by A.R. Hill and engraved by John Andrews.
