Fascinating folio sheet with French text, two maps and four views. Carte du Mexique shows Central Mexico and the Environs du Lac de Mexique features the vicinity of Mexico City with its islands in the lake connected by bridges. The four views include a panorama of Mexico City, one of the large Aztec Temple, and two showing various ceremonies including human sacrifice. All are surrounded by descriptions in French.

Condition: B+

A crisp impression on a sheet with the Strasburg bend and lily watermark. There are a couple archivally repaired separations along the centerfold, including one measuring 4" near center, and short wormtracks in the title at top that have been archivally infilled, with a negligible amount of facsimile work replacing loss in text.
