This fine map covers much of southeastern Europe, centered on present-day Hungary and extending to include Vienna, Budapest, Belgrade, and Transylvania. The map is richly embellished with mountain ranges, forests, rivers, and cities. Throughout the landscape are numerous depictions of shepherds with their flocks and wild game animals. Strapwork title cartouche and scale of miles. Latin text on verso, from the first edition in which this map appeared (in 1579).

Condition: B+

Full contemporary color on a lightly toned, watermarked sheet with a couple of small abrasions in the image. The green pigment has oxidized to brown but the paper is still supple.
