A. Empire des Abyssins, by Alain Manesson Mallet, from Description de l'Univers, circa 1683, black & white (4.1 x 5.8"). Charming little map showing the source of the Blue Nile and nearly all of the Horn of Africa. Decorated with a simple drape style cartouche. French text on verso. Reference: Pastoureau, MANESSON-MALLET I A [352]. Condition: A crisp impression with minor toning along the edges of the sheet.

B. Egypt and Part of the Holy Land, by Samuel Walker, circa 1848, hand color (7.4 x 9.4"). This small but striking map of Egypt names several towns and cities along the Nile. It extends into the Holy Land, locating Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, and Moab. There is some nice topographical detail. Engraved by T. Kelly. Condition: A nice impression with faint scattered foxing.
