This lovely engraving celebrates navigation and the Age of Exploration. At top is a large galleon, proudly sailing with a flag bearing Saint George's Cross. At bottom, on land, is a female figure representing navigation, holding a compass in one hand and a sail in the other. Surrounding her are maps, a globe, and instruments used in navigation. The engraving is dedicated to George Legge, 1st Baron Dartmouth and an English Royal Navy officer.
