This handsome volume reproduces the 27 maps in the edition of Ptolemy's Cosmographia held by the National Library of Naples. Compiled by the Benedictine scholar Donnus Nicolaus Germanus circa 1460, these remarkable maps served as the model for nearly all the printed copies of the Geographia published in the latter 15th century. Each double-page map is in full color. With a preface in Dutch by Lelio Pagani. Published by Atrium. Hardbound with illustrated covers.
