This deeply researched volume focuses on the cartographic output of the Malta-based Brocktorff family. It was published to accompany the exhibition of Brocktorff works put on by the Malta Map Society and Heritage Malta. It includes 105 items, each accompanied by a description and illustration. Some of the maps discussed here are so rare that only one known copy exists. Co-author Dr. Albert Ganado is a Maltese lawyer, historian, and notable collector of Melitensia. B. The Early Maltese Cartographers - Cassar, Saliba, Miriti, Gili, by Albert Ganado, published 2011, black & white (8.3 x 11.8"). This interesting publication from the Malta Map Society discusses the work of four Maltese cartographers active in the 16th- and early 17th centuries: Girolamo Cassar, Antonino Saliba, Ioannes Myritius, and Aloisio Gili. Several black & white illustrations are peppered throughout the text. Published in a limited run of 300, of which this is #231. Signed by the author. 45 pages. Soft illustrated covers.
