This handsome, uncommon Revolutionary War period map covers the area east of the Mississippi River and from James Bay to the Gulf of Mexico. It was issued just one year before the Treaty of Paris, and shows the provinces and colonies, towns and cities, Indian villages and tribal territory, along with mines, forts and other points of interest. Virginia, the Carolinas, and Georgia extend to the Mississippi River, and the area north of the Ohio River is filled with the names of numerous Indian tribes. An inset depicts southern Florida as a vast group of islands, and the map is adorned with an allegorical title cartouche.

A nice impression, issued folding with some printer's ink residue at right and a few misfolds, now flattened. There is a minor paper flaw below the "D" in Canada.
