This is the first map from the "brown border" series of Disney maps which were issued from 1978-89. These maps are similar in presentation to the previous "blue border" series but are notable for having Disney characters reintroduced to the borders. The map presents good detail of attractions, restaurants and shops with banners identifying the various parts of the park including Main Street, Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland. The future Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is depicted at lower left and is also located on the map in Frontierland. Title is enclosed in a large compass rose with banner at lower right. No artist is noted, though the map is based upon earlier works by Sam McKim. Accompanying the map is the original Disneyland paper bag and receipt.
