This large, scarce chart is based on data collected in 1794 by Don Cosme Damián de Churruca y Elorza, officer of the Royal Spanish Navy. The harbor is annotated with a systematic network of soundings and the city plan and fortifications are linked to a lettered key at top left. At top right is an extensive note with information on the port. Engraved by Etienne Collin with lettering (ecrit) by Besacon. The engraved seal of the Depot de la Marine is at left. The plate number 178 is at top right and Prix Un Franc is at lower right.

A nice impression on a sturdy sheet with light toning and soiling, which is more pronounced along the edges of the sheet. There are small chips and tears along the edges of the sheet, well away from the image.
