This exquisite engraving shows Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas from the vantage of Havensight. Various boats pass through Long Bay with the city shown nestled in the hills. The deep-water harbor depicted here is today one of the busiest ports for cruise ships. The level of detail is astonishing for a print this size. "Engraved from a large Print by Permission of Messrs. Boydell & Co." It was published by Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme & Brown in Volume XIV of John Pinkterton's A General Collection of the Best and Most Interesting Voyages and Travels in All Parts of the World...
