This map shows the region between the North Sea, Baltic Sea, and Gulf of Venice with a focus on the German Society of Jesus. The locations of colleges, universities, seminaries, and missions are shown, and a table at left lists the number of each per region. A scroll in northern Poland lists the number of people involved in the German Society of Jesus in each region. Adjacent to the scroll is a small inset showing the region on a globe, illuminated by the Society of Jesus to demonstrate how the society "illuminates the world."
