This handsome map focuses on the region surrounding Waldeck in northern Hessen. The map is finely engraved to show rivers, forests, mountains, cities, and villages. It is decorated with the coat-of-arms as part of the decorative title cartouche. A second cartouche contains the distance scale with putti using surveying equipment. German text on verso, published between 1641-70.

A dark impression with full contemporary color on a watermarked sheet with minor toning. There is light printer's ink residue, a few light stains, and the bottom margin has been professionally extended with period-correct paper.
