Beautifully composed on a small sheet, this title page for the German edition of Atlas Minor is in the allegorical style so popular during this period. The female representatives of the continents look on while contemporary geographers carefully measure a globe held aloft by Atlas the Titan. Through these images, the publisher promises his readers that the following work and its maps will draw on both classical and modern knowledge.

There are a few minor abrasions and light staining at left, and a couple printer's creases at bottom center. In the right blank margin, there are archival repairs to some chipping. The German title is on a panel of old paper and pasted over the Latin title, as issued.
