This is an attractive map of the United States enclosed in a floral border. It presents a huge Idaho Territory that encompasses today's Montana, Wyoming and Idaho, while a single large Dacotah Territory is located to its east. Arizona is still in possession of the southern tip of present-day Nevada, while Oklahoma is Indian Territory. An extensive railroad network runs throughout the East, while proposed railroads, wagon roads, emigrant routes, and the Pony Express Route are shown in the western territories. Insets of Hampton Roads and Norfolk Harbor, and Pensacola Bay are located in the Atlantic. Copyright date 1860, but published circa 1864.
