This "log book" was published by the Dallas-Canadian-Denver Highway Association in Canadian, Texas and was created to promote businesses along this route. A note to tourists on the title page indicates it "is placed in your hands free of cost thru the liberality and patriotism of the advertisers. When you reach a town, consult the index to the advertisers and buy what you need from them." The 120-page guide features a centerfold map of the route from Galveston to Denver as well as spoke routes to Oklahoma City and Del Rio, which all pass through the small town of Canadian (2,100 people at the time of publication and 2,200 now), which had aspirations to be the highway hub for the region. Detailed driving instructions are provided for 26 routes interspersed with text describing the towns along the way and numerous advertisements, some illustrated. A quality production apparently sanctioned by the National Highways Association in the early days of automobile travel between cities. Third edition. Printed wrappers (4 x 10.3"). We found only one past sales record in the last 30 years across all editions and one institutional example.
