This is the 57th edition of the Leavitt Almanac, published by Dudley Leavitt in Boston. The text is filled with astronomical information for the New England region, court systems in various states, "selected miscellany," and an interesting 1-page description of the major cities in California and accompanying single-page Mining Region of California by George Boynton. The author notes "The rapid strides in prosperity made by our sister State of California within a few years, and the constant increase of interest felt in her welfare by all New England citizens...has suggested the idea of inserting among our pages the new Stylographic map..." The map extends from Mt. Shasta south to San Luis Obispo and names Sutter's Fort, Auburn, Culoma City, Sacramento and more. Lake Tahoe is here named Lake Bonpland. 48 pages. Paper wrappers.
