This handsome little map of the continent is decorated by a strapwork title cartouche and compass rose in the Atlantic. A remnant of the L de Parme with its mythical Manoa o el Dorado (City of Gold) is still shown straddling the equator. Further to the south, the fictitious lake Xarayes appears in central Brazil. The coastlines are filled with settlements and place names while the interior is composed of river systems, mountains, and forests.
