This intricately engraved bird's-eye view shows the famous mountain of silver, mined extensively by the Spanish in the 17th century. The view shows miners climbing the mountain, which is surrounded by the bustling village. This is a re-engraved version of the view that was first published by Cornelis Claesz in Conqueste van Indien in 1596, and subsequently appeared in various editions of the Caert-Thresoor published by Claesz and Barent Langenes. Latin text on verso, published between 1616-18.
