An attractive map of the world showing only those parts known during ancient times. The map is adorned with a drape-style distance scale cartouche and a rococo title cartouche. Engraved by P. Bourgoin for an edition of Rollin's Histoire Romaine.

A sharp impression with contemporary outline color on a bright sheet with wide margins. There is a small paper flaw in the left margin and light toning along the edges of the sheet.
