A marvelous regional map of the Baltic coast, extending from Stralsund and the island of Rugen in the west to Dantzig and Culman on the Vistula River in the east. Extends south to just beyond the Oder, including Landsberg and Berlin. The map's most striking feature is the remarkable cartouche, filling the Baltic Sea - one of the most ornate allegorical cartouches to appear on a Homann map. The figures include Apollo and Artemis, Poseidon and Amphitrite, Heracles, and a pair of cherubs engaged in a fight.
